PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

October 3 2022 to October 9 2022

Monday October 3

Rebalancing

When it comes to new activity it's relatively quiet in the heavens this week... and, with Mercury no longer retrograde, there's a certain irony about being able to communicate more easily, only to realise that I don't have much to say! Of course, that's not strictly true - Mercury's new direction gives us the motivation to apply any lessons learned over the past few weeks. If we make good and right use of the insights we've gained, we can take steps to redress injustices and rebalance the scales.

Tuesday October 4

Sputnik 1

On this day, many moons ago, an object was launched into the cosmos that would impact how we look at our skies forever. The question is, am I writing about Sputnik 1, Earth's first man-made satellite, or my own arrival here? It's my birthday today and, as the skies go quiet in the build-up to the Full Moon, the presence of Venus in Libra reminds us to appreciate the beauty of the world around us... and to do all we can to bring more of it into our own lives, and the lives of the people we share this life with on planet Earth.

Wednesday October 5

Lustrous Potential

As the Conservative party conference comes to an end in the UK, politicians everywhere have been setting out agendas that must appeal to party members as well as the wider public. But it's not only people in leadership who must strike a fine balance now. The approaching Libran Full Moon encourages us to relate to the significant others in our lives to see if investment is needed. Whether emotional or financial, creative ways are emerging that will help key relationships regain lustre and fulfil their potential.

Thursday October 6

Motionless in the Sky

Pluto, the planet of secrets and transformation, is stationary in the sky. Whenever a planet hangs motionless, its power to influence is enhanced. And Pluto, being a little bit of a control-freak, tends to colour our vision more than most! Yet, as it turns direct over the coming days, it harmonises with Mercury - which is also marching forwards once again. It's a cosmic invitation to reveal what's going on beneath the surface. We don't need to hide our true feelings. Deeper truths need to be heard.

Friday October 7

Dark Side of the Moon

Yesterday we talked about revealing hidden truths. Today in history, a Russian probe sent back the first pictures of the 'dark side' of the Moon. But, of course, this side isn't really dark. If we could see it from the Earth, we'd realise that it's just as bright as the side we see. As the weekend's Full Moon arrives opposite Venus, revelations occur in our own lives. What (or who) are we struggling to relate to? Differences of opinion shouldn't be feared. They are simply a part of what makes relationships whole.

Saturday October 8

Your Weekly Horoscope

The Full Moon, like a cosmic spotlight, always brings an air of intensity. Since the celestial orb (which reaches fullness this weekend) is linked with Venus, the pressure is focused on our relationships. While tricky situations might come to a head, imbalances can be righted and niggling problems can be fixed. As the Sun and Venus flirt with Saturn and Mars in a supportive Grand Trine, they provide the emotional strength and security to transcend confrontations and move forwards with grace.
