PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

January 10 2022 to January 16 2022

Monday January 10

Second Chances

It's weird how second chances are sometimes described as 'another bite at the cherry'. I've yet to meet a cherry so big that wolfing one down is ever more than a single bite affair! Yet, no matter the size of the meal, the Sun's recent convergence with retrograde Venus brings a chance to return for second helpings of something sweet. Will another serving be too much of a good thing? That's a risk we'll have to be prepared to take! With a creative change to the recipe, we can easily find an appetite for more delights.

Hamilton Smash

Who'd have thought a rap-based show about America's founding fathers would be a Broadway and West End smash? The streamed version of Hamilton was a lockdown phenomenon. The pandemic hit theatres hard, but in our house, it whet our appetite to see the real thing. Today, with Mars (energy) and Neptune (imagination) aligning on Alexander Hamilton's birthday, plans won't go as imagined. With improvisation in the air, no matter how crazy the premise, passion will find a way to thrive.

Wednesday January 12

Planet Bezos

Remember when the rich and powerful funded libraries and museums to cement their legacies? These days they just send themselves to space! Today, on Jeff Bezos' birthday, there aren't many people who can afford what's on his wish list. That said, following Mars and Neptune's alignment, we might all find ourselves tempted to pursue out-of-this-world dreams. Mars and Jupiter's relationship inspires creative solutions that enable us to get if not all, then at least more of what we want.

Reverse Gear

Mercury is grinding to a halt in our skies. Tomorrow, it begins moving backwards for a period of introspection, problem solving, plus the occasional crossed wire. In some ways, it's back to the drawing board, particularly in how we relate to our peers and about what we think we need to do to advance important causes. But drawing boards aren't tools of failure - they're where successful plans are created. Stronger alliances will soon be formed that mean bright ideas will be given the priority they deserve.

Friday January 14

Serious Business

Certain professions require spontaneity and improvisation; we all enjoy comedians riffing with the audience as they compere a show. But there are other jobs where 'winging it' simply isn't an option. No-one wants their dentist to get creative mid-treatment! Mercury changes direction today (while linked with spontaneous Uranus). And this weekend, the Sun converges with mysterious Pluto ahead of the Full Moon. Good research is key. It may not be glamorous, but it can lead to thrilling realisations.

Saturday January 15

Your Weekly Horoscope

The world is full of circles. Elton John sang about them. Astrology is all about them. As one era ends, so another begins, regenerating and continuing the cycle. Which doesn't mean it's easy. This week, as Pluto lines up opposite the Full Moon, emotions will run high. The good news is that with Uranus turning direct after five months of retrograde motion, engines are about to start revving. And as the Sun heads into innovative Aquarius we can start realising our potential, turn things around and begin to enjoy life again.
