PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY

March 13 2017 to March 19 2017

Monday March 13

Holi Purim Satman

Saturn is a serious kind of planet... the sort that keeps collections of 19th-century coins behind glass doors. Or reads important works by academics with letters after their name, rather than fantasy stories by an author with letters before theirs. So how did Saturn respond to being the focus of this weekend's Full Moon, especially since it coincided with the famously colourful festivals of Holi and Purim? Perhaps we can all learn to take seriousness with a pinch of salt, and find the middle ground between frivolous and dour!

Tuesday March 14

Super Looper

Yesterday, Mercury entered Aries. Today it makes a 'quintile' with Pluto. Perhaps that information is a little dry, though. Let's have some more evocative imagery and put it this way. Yesterday Mercury jumped on a motorbike. Today it's going to be blindfolded and perform a loop-the-loop. OK, maybe that was just a little too evocative! But it illustrates that the way we think and communicate has been 'souped-up' and ready to go. With Pluto's influence today, you're ready to perform death-defying feats!

Wednesday March 15

Sticky Scorpio

Hi Oscar,
I'm a Scorpio. Scorpios are used to suffering, but things have been rough lately, like walking through peanut butter and never arriving anywhere. Can you offer any insight? Carol

Hi Carol, I'm sorry to hear of your struggles. Don't give up hope! Jupiter, the planet of expansion and travel, arrives in your sign later this year. And Saturn, which can have a restricting influence, will move on from its current position where it's affecting the Sagittarian themes of freedom and movement. Your world will feel both less viscous, and less vicious, in the future.

Thursday March 16

Coat Check

Tomorrow, the Sun will make a 'square' alignment to Saturn. It's not particularly unusual, we get two every year. Does that make it boring, run-of-the-mill, and ordinary? No! In fact, despite the sound of its name, a 'square' between two planets can be achingly hip and furiously fashionable. This particular influence will be around longer than the latest fashion craze, though. It encourages us to work on long-term goals and commit the resources needed to achieve them. It's time to cut our coat according to our cloth.

Friday March 17

St Patrick

Mercury and Venus conjunct in Aries this weekend. Usually, when they do this, it's a case of one catching up to the other. Sometimes it's like a competitor being 'lapped', and sometimes, it's like the handing of the baton in a team race. But this time, with Venus retrograde, it's as though the two are running towards each other with their arms outstretched - a perfect image for today's St Patrick's Day celebrations. A few hearts will be emboldened this weekend. And with this conjunction, they'll be astrologically encouraged to declare so!

Your Week Ahead

Have you noticed that my introductions for the week are often quite technical? That's because there are so many astrological factors to consider. This week is no exception. The Equinox arrives, retrograde Venus conjoins with the Sun and Mercury. And then the winged messenger also remobilises 2017's great T-square as it moves to conjunct the planet Uranus opposite Jupiter. It's a lot of information to try and sum up in a few sentences. Perhaps that's Mercury's influence at work already!

Sunday March 19

Your Week Ahead - Love Focus
