Saturn’s movements are not exact to the calendar year. But roughly every seven years, Saturn gets about one quarter of the way round the cosmic clock face. Once every 28 years it returns to the zodiac position it held when we were born. That’s when we face facts and make more realistic plans. It can be a tough time. It may require us to ‘reinvent’ ourselves. It always, though, heralds the onset of deeper discrimination and wisdom.

Possible cosmic culprits include 45 degree angles in the 84-year cycle of Uranus – or, perhaps, sunspot cycles. I’d need to look and see what your chart is sensitive to. But you could argue that if trouble comes only every ten years, you’re leading a life that’s ninety per cent fine!

*Tonight's Occultation of Saturn is visible only from the Arctic down to central, northern and eastern Europe. In Berlin, for example, the full occultation starts at 3:29h MET and ends at 4:11h MET The further west your viewing point, the more likely you are to see a rare 'grazing occultation' where Saturn appears to run along the line of the Moon's mountains, playing a kind of celestial peek-a-boo. The broad 'graze' line crosses the UK mainland from north to south, starting in Lewis, Outer Hebrides, (98% at Stornoway) and proceeding via Glasgow (96%), the Lake District (100% at Windermere), Preston (70%), Chester (25%), Birmingham (45%), Oxford (40%), and Reading (40%), until it reaches the south coast at Brighton (70%).
