Two kinds of New Moon
The phrase ‘New Moon’ has two meanings. There’s ‘New Moon’ as in a tiny toenail clipping of a Moon, appearing after a few nights of darkness... and there’s ‘new moon’ as in the Sun and Moon being at exactly the same degree of the zodiac - so close that the Moon cannot reflect any sunlight. That’s the kind of New Moon we’ve got tonight. It is, though, no ordinary ‘Dark of The Moon’. A rare cosmic coincidence puts Jupiter, too, at that very degree of the zodiac. This extremely auspicious, rare triple conjunction suggests deep ‘emotional justice’ is about to prevail.

Sleeping revolution

I have heard that it is important to sleep with your head pointing North. Does this apply in the Southern Hemisphere?

Dear Jackie,
Some Tibetan Buddhists say you will remember more dreams if you sleep with your head pointing north. Charles Dickens would never sleep in any other position. Practitioners of Vaastu Shastra, an Indian form of Feng Shui though, say it’s a very bad idea. So do many Japanese people. I honestly don’t know whether these rules are reversed in Australia. To be on the safe side, I recommend you get yourself a revolving bed!

A matter of martyrdom
 Recently, I suggested that Comet Swan could herald the demise of a world leader. Days later, Saddam Hussein was sentenced to death. Are the two connected? I sincerely hope not. If Saddam's execution is significant enough to warrant a comet, his martyrdom is assured. Even if the comet has another meaning entirely, to kill Saddam is to reinforce a barbaric belief: that one human being may kill another with impunity as long as they have permission from a court, a government or a religion. No matter what atrocious crimes have been committed, two wrongs can never make a right.

What do astrologers believe?

Do astrologers believe that people reap what they sow? Do wrongdoers get natural justice in the end? Alan

Dear Alan,
Many of my Indian colleagues believe in 'Karma'. Some even say your chart reveals past life 'debts' that you must repay. Other astrologers don't accept reincarnation. They feel that if you ever do anything you have to 'pay for', nature will present the bill while you are still alive. Most astrologers believe in some kind of natural justice but some just feel that the highest thing anyone can ever aspire to... is the ability to be non-judgemental.

FRIDAY November 24
Jupiter comes home
 Jupiter last entered entered Sagittarius on December 9, 1994. It left on January 3, 1996. In the early hours of this morning, though, the largest planet in our solar system returned to the sign of the centaur. Once again, it will spend just over a year in its 'heavenly home'. That's not just good news for Sagittarians. It's encouraging for all who want to promote great causes and pursue grand plans. It's good for justice, for generosity, for optimism, for altruism, for adventure, for honesty, for discovery... and for all who now seek to develop a deeper spiritual understanding.

Dear Katy,
Plenty of people could offer you a down to earth solution to this mystery but they may not be right. Even if a situation seems to have a logical explanation, it can still hide a surprising secret. I think it may have come from 2019. People, around then, will be starting to experiment with sending messages back in time. They are bound to make a few errors.
